Floating Island - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 eggs, separated
    2 c. milk
    pinch of salt
    10 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until foamy.
    Gradually beat in 6 tablespoons sugar; beat until stiff.
    Bring milk to a boil with salt, vanilla and remaining 1/4 cup of sugar in a saucepan.
    Drop meringue mixture by tablespoon into milk and poach the island until they are firm, turning them to cook on both sides.
    Remove with a slotted spoon.
