Red Beans And Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. sausage
    1 lb. bag red kidney beans
    1/2 lb. chopped ham hocks
    3 bay leaves
    1 chopped onion
    2 cloves garlic (can substitute garlic powder)
    1 stick butter
Preparation
    Put all ingredients in a pot.
    Add water at least 1 1/2-inches over beans.
    Cover and simmer approximately 6 hours.
    Add more water as they cook, if necessary.
    Serve over cooked rice.
