Aunt Hazel'S Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. raisins
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 c. water
    1 egg
    1 tsp. soda
    3 c. flour
    nuts (if desired)
Preparation
    Boil together for 5 minutes the first 7 ingredients.
    Cool, then add remaining ingredients.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 in 13 x 9-inch greased and floured cake pan until middle tests done.
