Old Fashioned Tea Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cream butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla. Sift flour, measure and sift again with baking powder, soda and nutmeg.
Add dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately to creamed mixture.
Chill dough, roll out to board.
Cut with cookie cutters.
Bake on lightly greased baking sheet in 400\u00b0 oven 8 minutes.
Makes about 6 dozen 2-inch cookies.
