Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
5 eggs, separated
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 (6 oz.) pkg. frozen coconut
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/4 c. margarine, softened
1 (16 oz.) pkg. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. chopped nuts
3 oz. frozen coconut
Preparation

Use an electric mixer and combine all ingredients except coconut and nuts.
Mix well.
Add coconut and nuts.
Spread on cooled cake.
