Snow Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. hot milk
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 egg whites
1/4 c. sugar
shredded coconut
baked pie shell (9-inch)
Preparation

Blend the cornstarch with the first 1/4 cup sugar and salt. Pour the hot milk over this, stirring constantly, until thick. Add 1 tablespoon butter and the vanilla.
Beat egg whites until they are stiff.
Add the last 1/4 cup of sugar and beat until points form.
Fold into cream mixture while it is hot.
Cool slightly, then heap into a 9-inch baked pie shell.
Cover with a layer of shredded coconut.
Top with whipped cream or meringue. Cool thoroughly before cutting.
