Chocolate Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup rolled oats
    1 1/2 cups boiling water
    1/2 cup shortening (can use butter or margarine)
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    2 eggs
    1 cup flour
    1/2 cup cocoa
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation
    Mix oats and boiling water together and set aside.
    Cream shortening with sugar and eggs.
    Add the oatmeal mixture.
    Add the flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt, and vanilla, and beat until smooth.
    Pour into a greased and floured oblong cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
