Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla or lemon extract
1 Tbsp. milk
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar together.
Add eggs, extract and milk; blend well.
Sift or stir together dry ingredients; blend in. Chill dough, if necessary.
Roll out on floured board or surface; cut into desired shapes.
Decorate as desired; bake on an ungreased cookie sheet in a 375\u00b0 oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges just start to turn golden.
Remove to a rack to cool.
