Long Lasting Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 to 3/4 tsp. vinegar
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed (optional)
    1 large head cabbage, shredded
    1 large green bell pepper, chopped
    1 medium onion, chopped
    4 stalks celery, chopped
Preparation
    Combine first 5 ingredients and cook, stirring, until sugar is dissolved.
    Let cool and pour over vegetables.
    Let stand overnight in refrigerator.
    This can be frozen.
