Good Custard Cooler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. milk, scalded
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. fresh fruit
Preparation
    Mix eggs, sugar
    and
    salt.
    Gradually
    pour
    milk into eggs, stirring constantly.
    Cook
    over
    simmering
    not boiling water stirring constantly
    until mixture coats spoon.
    Stir in vanilla. Cool immediately.
    Cover and refrigerate.
    Pour over fresh fruit in bowl (1/2 cup to 1/2 cup fruit).
