Todd'S Baked Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or 2 sticks
    2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. corn syrup (dark or light)
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    6 qt. popped corn
Preparation
    Melt butter and stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; boil without stirring for 5 minutes.
    Remove from heat; stir in baking soda and vanilla.
    (It swells; be sure to use a big enough pan.) Gradually pour over popped corn, mixing well.
    Turn into a large shallow baking pan or two smaller pans.
    Bake in a 250\u00b0 oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
    Remove from oven.
    Put out onto wax paper on the countertop to cool.
    Break large pieces and store in an airtight container or plastic bags.
