Aunt Jenny'S Potted Beef - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 large onions, sliced
3 Tbsp. Crisco
2 lb. chuck beef
3 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 pt. boiling water
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1 Tbsp. ketchup
Preparation

Cook onions slowly in melted Crisco until brown.
Cut beef into small serving pieces.
Add to pan, increase heat and brown meat on both sides.
Mix flour with seasonings and sprinkle over meat.
Add water, vinegar and ketchup.
Cover and simmer until meat is tender (1 1/2 hours).
Serves 6.
