Refrigerator Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cake yeast or 1 pkg. dry yeast
    1 c. hot water
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    3 1/4 to 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
Preparation
    Soften yeast in lukewarm water; pour hot water over sugar, salt and shortening.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Add 1/2 cup flour and mix thoroughly.
    Add softened yeast, about 1/2 remaining flour and egg, beating thoroughly.
    Add enough flour to make a soft dough that can be handled on board.
    Allow to rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Knead 3 to 5 minutes.
