Apple Crisp - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. sliced tart apples
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. margarine, softened
1/2 c. oats
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. flour
3 eggs, separated
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. grated lemon rind
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. heavy cream, whipped
1 crumb crust (wafer or graham cracker)
Preparation

Combine beaten egg yolks, sugar, lemon juice, lemon peel and salt; cook in a double boiler, stirring constantly until mixture coats a spoon.
Cool; fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Fold in whipped cream.
Pour filling into crust.
Place in freezer and freeze firm.
Serve frozen.
