French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium onions, thinly sliced
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    8 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    4 cans beef consomme
    2 cans water
    1/2 c. brandy
    3 Tbsp. olive oil
    French bread
    Swiss cheese
Preparation
    Saute onions and garlic in 6 tablespoons of butter until soft, but not brown.
    Sprinkle with flour.
    Add 1 can of soup and 1 can of water.
    Bring to a boil.
    Add remaining soup and water.
    Add brandy just before serving.
