Ingredients

4 to 5 medium carrots, sliced
1 tart cooking apple, peeled, cored and chopped
2 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
2 Tbsp. water
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine all ingredients in a 1-quart casserole.
Cover with glass lid or plastic wrap.
Microwave on High for 5 minutes.
Stir and continue cooking on High for 3 to 4 minutes or until carrots are tender-crisp.
Let stand, covered, 3 minutes before serving. Serves 5 to 6.
