Fruit Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. pecans, chopped
    1/2 lb. butter, softened
    1 box light brown sugar
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. plain flour
    1/2 lb. red cherries
    1/2 lb. green cherries
Preparation
    Spread chopped nuts on bottom of greased and floured pan.
    Mix softened butter, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla and flour.
    Pour over nuts.
    Sprinkle chopped cherries over top of batter.
    Bake 1 hour at 300\u00b0.
    Cut into squares while warm.
    Leave in pan to cool.
