Clam Or Oyster Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. clam liquor
    1/4 c. milk
    2 beaten eggs
    12 chopped raw clams
    1 tsp. melted butter
    1 tsp. grated onion (optional)
Preparation
    Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and pepper.
    Add clam liquor, milk and eggs.
    Stir until well blended and add clams and butter.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Drop from a spoon into deep hot fat (375\u00b0) and fry 4 to 6 minutes until well browned.
    Drain on unglazed paper.
