Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sliced cucumbers
    6 sliced onions
    2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. white mustard seed
    1 tsp. whole cloves
Preparation
    Put cucumbers and onions in a crock and cover them with one handful of\tsalt.
    Let
    stand
    overnight.
    Drain
    and
    add sugar, white mustard
    seed and cloves.
    Cover with vinegar and cook 10 or 15\tminutes.
    Don't let pickles cook fast, just let them heat through real
    good.
    Pack
    in
    quart
    jars and seal. This is an old-time recipe my grandma used.
