Tea Biscuit - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation

Mix and sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening with fork until mealy. Add beaten egg to milk. Add carefully to other ingredients. Toss on slightly floured board or paper. Roll 1/4-inch thick; cut with biscuit cutter. Spread 1 biscuit with soft butter. Place a second biscuit on top. Place in a slightly floured pan and bake in a moderate oven.
