Lemon Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. water
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
3 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
Preparation

Combine sugar, cornstarch and a pinch of salt in a saucepan. Slowly add water and heat over medium heat until thick and clear. Remove from heat; add butter, lemon juice and lemon rind.
Serve with any variety of cakes (i.e.
unfrosted orange, vanilla or pound cake).
Also good with puddings and ice cream.
A variation includes adding 1/4 cup crushed pineapple instead of water.
