Grandma'S Moist Dark Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dark brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. lard or solid shortening
    1 pkg. seedless raisins
    3 c. bread flour, sifted only once
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. hot water
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. hot water
Preparation
    In a deep saucepan, boil together sugar, water, lard, salt, raisins and spices for 5 minutes.
    Set aside to cool.
