Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. vegetable oil
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. fig preserves, drained and chopped
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
3 eggs
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation

Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Add oil; beat well.
Add eggs, beating well.
Add buttermilk and vanilla; mix thoroughly.
Stir in preserves and pecans.
Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
