Strawberry Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. strawberries, scalded
    4 c. sugar plus 2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Boil strawberries.
    Leave in water 2 minutes.
    Put through colander and drain, not perfectly dry.
    Add 4 cups sugar; boil 2 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Add 2 cups sugar and boil for 5 minutes.
    Pour in a shallow pan (bread pan works best) and let stand overnight, stirring occasionally.
