Squash Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 c. squash, grated or chopped
    1 green hot pepper, grated
    5 tsp. salt
    6 c. sugar
    1 tsp. turmeric
    2 c. bell pepper, grated
    1 red hot pepper, grated
    4 c. onions, grated
    3 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. pickling spice
Preparation
    Mix together squash, peppers and onions; add salt.
    Let set while you boil vinegar mixture (vinegar, sugar, pickling spice and turmeric tied in white bag).
    Slowly stir in squash, onions and peppers.
    Cook until mixture begins to change color.
    Pack in sterilized canning jars and seal.
