Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sesame seed
whole almonds, unsalted (optional)
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add beaten egg and vanilla.
Sift dry ingredients together and add to the creamed mixture.
Chill about 1 hour.
Form into small balls; roll in sesame seed.
Place on oiled cookie sheet and flatten slightly.
(Optional: Gently push almonds into center of each cookie.)
Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 10 to 12 minutes.
