Mother Rote'S Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    1 egg
    1 c. molasses
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. boiling water
    1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream sugar, vegetable shortening and egg together.
    Add the molasses, sifted flour, salt and cinnamon; blend well.
    Add boiling water and soda.
    Pour into greased pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
