Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 slices day-old white bread
    2 to 3 Tbsp. margarine
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 apple, shredded (optional)
    3 c. milk
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    pinch of salt
    3 eggs
Preparation
    Toast bread; spread each lightly with margarine.
    Cut each slice into 4 lengthwise pieces.
    Arrange toast crosswise, buttered side down, forming a single layer.
    Sprinkle with cinnamon and apple.
    Continue layering 2 more times.
