Date Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. pecans
    1 large pkg. pitted dates
    1 small can crushed pineapple
    1/4 lb. butter
    4 eggs, beaten well
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Melt
    butter, pour over dates and nuts, pour flour over nuts and
    add
    eggs.
    Mix
    well.
    Add
    vanilla and pineapple. Bake at 300\u00b0
    for 1 hour.
    Spray pan with Pam or grease well. If
    you want
    fruit
    added,
    use
    cherries\tand mixed candied chopped fruit, like you use in a fruitcake.
