Ingredients

1 c. dried figs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
2 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. shortening
3 eggs
Preparation

Pour boiling water over figs.
Cover and let stand 5 minutes. Drain and dry.
Sift all dry ingredients.
Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs and beat well.
Add flour mixture alternately with milk.
Fold in chopped figs.
Fill muffin tins 2/3 full.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
Makes 12 to 15.
