German Cabbage Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. finely chopped cabbage
    1/2 c. finely chopped onion
    2 medium fresh tomatoes
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
    1/2 tsp. fresh chopped garlic
    5 c. beef stock
    2 medium apples, peeled and diced
    4 tsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Place cabbage, onion and stock in 2 1/2 quart saucepan. Pour lemon
    juice
    over apples to prevent discoloration.
    Add chopped tomatoes,
    apples,\tsalt and sugar to stock.
    Cook 25 minutes. Add pepper.
    Good to freeze.
