Chocolate Mint Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 2/3 c. powdered sugar
    1/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
    1/3 c. butter, softened
    1/3 c. light corn syrup
    1 tsp. peppermint extract
Preparation
    Sift together sugar and cocoa; set aside.
    In large mixing bowl, beat butter, corn syrup and peppermint extract at medium speed with electric mixer until well blended.
    Gradually add 1 to 2 cups of cocoa and sugar mixture, beating with a wooden spoon until well blended; stir in the remaining cocoa mixture.
    With hands, knead mixture until it is well blended and smooth.
    On wax paper, pat or roll out to 1/4-inch thickness.
    With small cookie cutters or cutters of your choice, cut into desired shapes. Refrigerate in tightly covered container.
    You can garnish these if so desired.
