Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

3/4 c. vegetable shortening
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. quick or old-fashioned oats, uncooked
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Heat the oven to 350\u00b0.
Beat the shortening, sugar, egg, water and vanilla until creamy. Add the combined dry ingredients and mix well. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack and cool completely. Store tightly covered.
