Shoney'S Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. hot water
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    3/4 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. strawberry jello
    1 basket fresh strawberries (qt.)
    few drops red food coloring (if desired)
    baked pastry pie shell (9-inch)
Preparation
    Mix sugar and cornstarch with water.
    Bring to boil 1 minute, until clear and thickened.
    Add jello and a few drops of food coloring, if desired.
    Fill baked pie crust with strawberries. Pour the mixture over the strawberries.
    Chill for several hours. Serve with whipped topping.
