Mom'S Banana Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sifted cake flour (plain)
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk or regular milk (allow to set at room temperature; add 2 Tbsp. vinegar)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. mashed ripe bananas
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 eggs, unbeaten
Preparation

Stir shortening to soften.
Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar.
Add to shortening mix with 1/4 cup milk and mashed bananas.
Mix until flour is damp and beat for 1 to 2 minutes.
Add eggs and rest of milk.
Beat until smooth.
Pour in greased pans. Bake 25 minutes in 375\u00b0 oven.
