Beany Beefburgers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef
    1/2 c. catsup
    1 tsp. chili powder
    2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
    2 Tbsp. finely chopped green pepper
    6 hamburger buns
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 (16 oz.) can red beans, drained
Preparation
    Combine ground beef, salt and pepper.
    Shape into 6 patties, 1/2-inch thick.
    Place in a small skillet and cook on both sides until done.
    Remove from heat and set aside.
    Combine catsup, chili powder, beans, onion and green pepper in a small saucepan. Simmer 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Remove from heat. Place a beef patty on bottom half of each hamburger bun.
    Top each patty with 3 to 4 tablespoons hot bean sauce.
    Cover with bun tops.
    Makes 6 servings.
