Mock Lasagne - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 oz. elbow macaroni
    1 lb. Italian sausage
    1 1/2 c. Ricotta cheese
    1/2 tsp. basil leaves, crushed
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. garlic
    6 oz. Mozzarella shredded cheese
Preparation
    Brown sausage; drain off fat. Add salt, pepper, garlic and basil. Add 1/2 cup water. Cover and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    In a 2-quart casserole dish, layer 1/2 each starting with macaroni, Ricotta cheese, shredded cheese, then meat sauce; repeat.
    Cook at 375\u00b0 for 30 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
    Serve with salad and garlic bread.
