Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1 c. raw peanuts
    1/4 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Combine sugar, syrup, peanuts and salt in a 2-quart casserole dish. Stir well. Microwave on High 8 to 9 minutes.
    Mixture will be light brown.
    Add butter and vanilla.
    Blend thoroughly. Microwave on High 1 to 3 minutes until mixture reaches hard crack stage.
    Stir in soda quickly.
    Pour onto greased cookie sheet. Cool 1 hour. Break. Store in airtight container.
