Chinese Chews - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shredded coconut
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add other ingredients and mix.
For drop cookies, chill dough first.
For bars, press ingredients into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake in a 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 oven until set or a light brown.
Glaze while still warm with a soft mixture of powdered sugar and lemon juice or water.
Cut into squares.
