Cherry Dessert Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    4 large eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. almond extract
    2 c. flour
    1 jar/can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until well mixed.
    Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
    Add the flavorings.
    Stir in the flour (sifted) and baking powder until smooth.
    Pour in a prepared 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Spoon the cherry pie filling evenly over the top of the batter into 12 spots.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes, until the cakes tests done.
    Serves 12.
