2 Tbsp. butter
6 medium onions
3 Tbsp. sherry
4 c. beef broth
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 1/2 Tbsp. basil
1/2 tsp. thyme
salt
6 French bread croutons *
6 thick slices Swiss cheese
Preparation

*Brush 1 piece of French bread with melted butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, garlic powder and basil.
Toast in 350\u00b0 oven for 15 minutes until crisp and lightly brown.
