Mock Chicken Liver Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large stalk celery
    2 medium raw carrots
    3/4 lb. raw cabbage
    1 medium green sweet pepper
    1 small raw onion
    2 heaping Tbsp. peanut butter
    2 onions, sliced, which have been simmered in about 2 Tbsp. shortening (oil, butter, chicken fat or Crisco) in covered pan for about 10 minutes
Preparation
    Put all ingredients, except peanut butter, in food chopper and grind fine.
    Mix peanut butter with ground ingredients.
    Season with salt to taste.
    Serve on lettuce leaf.
    Garnish with slice of tomato on crisp toast.
