Grandmother'S Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising meal
    2 c. buttermilk
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    Beat egg.
    Add buttermilk, stir and add meal.
    Stir.
    Rub 2 tablespoons of shortening in pan.
    Let it get hot before putting bread mixture in.
    Cook at 450\u00b0 until golden brown.
