Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. bell pepper
    3/4 c. chopped celery
    2 oz. mushrooms (reserve liquid)
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1 beef bouillon cube
    1 can tomatoes, cut up
    1 sprig parsley
    1 small bay leaf
    salt
    black pepper
    red pepper
    few dashes thyme
    1 to 2 lb. raw shrimp
Preparation
    Combine shortening, onion, pepper, celery and drained mushrooms in a skillet.
    Cook until limp.
    Add rest of ingredients (including mushroom liquid), except shrimp.
    Cover and simmer slowly for 30 minutes.
    Add raw shrimp.
    Return to boil and simmer.
    Serves 6 to 8.
