Congo Squares - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. butter (1 1/2 sticks)
1 lb. brown sugar
3 eggs
2 2/3 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. broken nuts
1 pkg. chocolate chips (small pkg.)
Preparation

Melt shortening in large saucepan.
Pour in brown sugar and let cool a little.
Beat in one egg at a time.
Add in flour mixture of dry ingredients, nuts and chips.
Spread into greased 2 x 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until done.
Don't overcook.
