Lollipops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 tsp. red or green food coloring
    1 1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
Preparation
    In medium saucepan combine sugar, syrup and 1/2 cup water. Cook over medium heat without stirring, until candy thermometer registers 300\u00b0 or until small amount of mixture forms hard, brittle threads when dropped into cold water.
    Remove from heat.
