Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. cucumbers
    2 qt. water (boiled and cooled)
    1/2 c. salt
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 pt. vinegar
    4 (8-inch) stalks dill
Preparation
    Sterilize jars.
    Wash
    cukes;
    cut into spears and fill jars. Mix 2
    quarts
    water (boiled and cooled), 1/2 cup salt, 1/4 teaspoon cream
    of\ttartar\tand 1 pint vinegar.
    Pour over cukes. Add an 8-inch
    stalk of dill to 1 quart of cukes.
    Can be made in open crock.
    Never fails, an excellent method.
