Beef Burgundy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 slices bacon
    4 lb. beef (round or sirloin)
    2 Tbsp. brandy
    2 garlic cloves, crushed
    2 lb. mushrooms
    approximately 14 white onions
    1/3 c. butter
    1/4 to 1/2 c. flour
    3 (10 1/2 oz.) cans beef consomme
    1 1/2 c. Burgundy or cheap red wine
    2 bay leaves
    2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. thyme
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    4 carrots, sliced
Preparation
    Dice 6 slices of bacon; brown and remove from pan.
    Brown beef; cut in 4-inch strips.
    Put aside.
    Flame 2 tablespoons brandy.
    Saute garlic cloves, mushrooms and white onions.
