Chunky Applesauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 large cooking apples (Granny Smith or Rome Beauty)
1 c. water
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 to 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
Preparation

Peel, core and slice apples. Combine apples and water in a Dutch oven. Bring to a boil. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add cinnamon and nutmeg to apples. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat 10 minutes or until liquid is evaporated. Remove from heat. Stir in brown sugar. Let cool at least 30 minutes. Makes 8 servings.
