Sensational Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. packed brown sugar
1/3 c. margarine
1 c. water
1 c. raisins
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda

Preparation

Combine everything except flour, baking powder and soda. Heat until boiling and simmer 5 minutes; set aside to cool. Dissolve baking soda in 2 teaspoons hot water; pour into cooled mixture. Add flour and baking powder; stir until blended. Bake in greased 8 x 12 pan at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes. Ice with Penuche Icing.
